Effective October 15, 2026 · Updated October 15, 2026 · DashTV for iPhone and CarPlay

The short version: DashTV doesn't have accounts, ads or tracking. What you watch, browse and save stays on your iPhone. The only data that leaves your device is your DashTV Pro purchase history, which our subscription provider processes under an anonymous ID so your purchases work. We never sell or share your personal information.

Who we are

DashTV is published by Whitmore Financial LLC d/b/a Ascent Technologies ("we", "us"). Contact us at tom@ascenttechnologies.org.

What stays on your iPhone

DashTV stores the following only on your device. We never receive it:

Location

While your iPhone is connected to CarPlay, DashTV uses precise location to work out whether the vehicle is moving, so it can hide video on the car display while driving. Location is processed on your iPhone in real time. It's never stored, never sent to us, and never shared. DashTV doesn't use location when CarPlay isn't connected. You can turn location off in iOS Settings; video on the car display then stays locked.

Screen Mirror

When you start Screen Mirror, iOS records your screen and hands it to DashTV's mirror extension, which sends it to the DashTV app on the same iPhone to show on your car display. Your screen never leaves your device and is never recorded or saved. Everything on your screen is visible on the car display while mirroring is on, including notifications.

Websites, playlists and streams you open

DashTV is a browser and player. When you open a website, playlist link or stream, your iPhone connects directly to that service, and it may collect information under its own privacy policy. To show a site's icon, DashTV requests it directly from that site, not through any third party.

Purchases

DashTV Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payment; we never see your payment details, name or email. To unlock Pro, restore purchases and understand how DashTV Pro is doing (for example, how many people subscribe or cancel), we use RevenueCat, a subscription service provider. RevenueCat receives your purchase history (which DashTV Pro plan you bought, when, price and renewal status), a random anonymous ID created for this app, and basic technical information such as your app version, iOS version and country or region. This data isn't linked to your name, email or Apple Account, isn't used for advertising and isn't shared with data brokers.

Your choices and rights

Everything DashTV stores on your iPhone can be deleted at any time in Settings › Delete All DashTV Data, or by deleting the app. To access or delete purchase records held by RevenueCat, email us from the contact below and include your purchase receipt; Apple keeps its own purchase records, which you can manage with Apple. We don't sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. If you have a question or request under the CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, UK GDPR or any other privacy law, contact tom@ascenttechnologies.org and we'll respond within the time the law requires.

This website

dashtv.app uses no cookies, analytics, ads or third-party scripts. Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver and secure the site. If you email us, we use your email only to reply and to tell you when DashTV launches if you asked us to, and we'll delete it on request.

Children

DashTV is rated for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security

Data DashTV stores is protected by iOS's built-in encryption and app sandboxing. Screen Mirror's on-device connection is locked to DashTV's own extension with a per-session secret.

Changes

If we change how DashTV handles data, such as adding analytics, we'll update this policy and the effective date before the change ships, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
